There are many different kinds of accessories for Dremel tools; in fact I don’t know where to start my discussion, hmmm… There are some nice accessories I noticed and really caught my attention that I think would be very handy and can make your job a lot easier. First is the Dremel Flex Attachment, if you are a big fan of rotary tools then this is a must have. This accessory allows you to use the unit as if you are using a miniature version of it. It adds dexterity to your hands allowing you to move it easily in any stroke you like, more like pencil while you are sketching a piece of art. It also lessen the stress from your hands from carrying the weight of the original unit while working, allowing you to work over extended period of time experiencing too much fatigue on your wrist.
Another good accessory is the Rotary Tool Work Station. It will turn your gadget into a small scaled drill press. Perfect for drilling deep holes while the work piece is securely fastened onto the base. Perfect for drilling multiple holes and holes that requires a perfect perpendicular alignment. Using the rotary lever arm, it can easily penetrate any material with less effort. By tilting the work station by 90 degrees using a grinding stone bit you can turn it into a bench grinder.
One of the basic accessory and also the best buy accessory is the Keyless Chuck. It is very similar to the chuck of an ordinary electric drill and will turn your rotary gadget into a portable drill. Keyless means inserting and removing the bit is easy without using additional tool, just press the shaft lock and loosen or tighten it using your hand. It can accept 1/32-inch to 1/8-inch shanks and are compatible with model 275, 285, 395, 398, 750, 770 and 781.
Working with a project that requires different angle of attack or working in restricted or tight spaces needs the Right Angle Attachment. This unit can be easily attached to the rotary tool in place of the housing cap without the need of any device and will turn it into a right angle or sander like tool. You can use a wire sanding disk and use it to clean hard to reach surfaces without having to dismantle the work piece. This attachment can handle 30,000 rpm and works with 300, 400, 780, 800 models and more.
You can also have the chain saw sharpening attachment which will allow you to easily sharpen any chain saw blade. This set attachment is composed of many pieces and has everything you need to get the job done. Other common attachment set includes 11-piece carving and engraving kit, 160-piece assorted attachment kit, 20-piece clean and polish rotary kit and more. You can also buy individual bit just in case you broke one or if it becomes dull.
